I was recently injured and need to take a passport photo. What do I do?

If you are applying for a passport, and have recently had an accident that temporarily affects your appearance in your photo, you can still submit your application. This may include, but is not limited to, stitches or swelling on your face or head. In this situation the Passport Office also requests you provide a letter of explanation on the letterhead of a medical professional. The Passport Office may, at their discretion, choose to issue a limited validity passport.
